Really, really interesting as always Matt. Particularly struck by John's closing thoughts,
“Most of the people we see in politics in most of the roles are not fit for purpose, so (after a war or collapse) it takes two to three years to shake out all the people who were trained in the old order, (and then) to get people who are effective and know what they are doing and to push things toward some sort of successful outcome.
“We’re going to have to lose a generation of political leaders who simply don’t know what they properly ought to be doing.”
“It needs political will of the order we don’t see very often in the current world.”
And Lousie's call to action was a great place to end “Do you want to be shaped by the future that’s coming or to help shape that future?”
well that was 3 great brains. Tim's comments below - yes. I would add the interesting observation from John of how hard it is to maintain "consumer/public interest" for a sustained period.
Yes on analogy of Ski Lift project. DM's (Doc Martins?). How do we engage people is one of the biggest questions.

Thanks Chris! That's why, personally, I think things like the Patagonia move and the ski lift analogy are great ways into these topics.
and surfing into sewage!
